Hello everybody, the Youth Corner is back for it's 2nd contest. Our goal for this contest is to get more submissions from a broad audience that is interested in human development and social change. The deadline for this contest is DECEMBER 30TH. We are giving our youth two months to submit their creative work to us. We are excited and expect a great response. Tell your friends and family members to participate. This is a great opportunity for young writers to get their work published in a quarterly publication. Our goal for the Youth Corner is to instill in the youth the value of creative expression through writing. But at the same time, they are educating themselves about the value of community giving and community service.

- Write an essay on why you enjoy going to school
- Write a poem on friendship
4th grade-6th grade (Choose One)
- If you had $20, how would you use it to better this world?
- ‘One step in front of the other’ was this year's slogan for the Chicago marathon held on Oct. 11th, 2009. How do you think taking things one step at a time can help us achieve our goal? Please give an example or two.
7th grade-9th grade
- Write about a social issue that is important to you. Examples of social issues are homelessness, poverty and illiteracy. Please help us understand why it is important and how you would help solve the issue.
10th grade-12th grade
- Write about a social issue that is important to you. Examples of social issues are homelessness, poverty and illiteracy. Please help us understand why it is important and how you would help solve the issue. You can also think of environmental issues for your topic.
