HDF New York/New Jersey Chapter
HDF New Jersey - New York Chapter holds Donor Appreciation Iftar
HDF NJ-NY is a network in the making. We held our first Donor Appreciation Iftar on Sunday May 20, 2018 at Al-Wali Banquet Hall in Edison, New Jersey. We had about 250 participants. It was a brief program that started just 20 minutes before the break of Iftar and was concluded within the hour before community dinner was served. Dr. Mahmood Alam introduced HDF to the audience, many of them did not know HDF before. A 4-minute video was displayed the showcase areas of our work and what HDF does. Mr. Shomail Malik, a young entrepreneur, was the keynote speaker. Mr. Malik’s plea to help the less fortunate people in Pakistan by donating to HDF was very convincing to the extent that this donor appreciation dinner turned out to be a mini-fundraiser. HDF collected more than $15,000. Dinner time provided Dr. Alam an opportunity to visit all the table to thank everyone and to share the story of sustainable development with the community.
