News Story: HDF’s History in Building Model Villages

Following the disastrous floods of 2010, one of HDF’s major efforts has been rehabilitation work in the form of Misali Bastis (Model Villages) in the affected areas of Pakistan that are now kept maintained by the communities and HDF together. On a quest to improve livelihood in rural Pakistan, initiatives on health, safety, hygiene and clean water are carried out in these self-contained communities. These Model Villages consist of relatively high-quality housing with integrated community amenities. Model Villages

 

Basti Makora

In Partnership with:

 

Village Basti Makora in Rahim Yar Khan has been converted into a Model Village. The completed projects are as follows:

 

Siddique Maddo

In Partnership with:

 

Village Siddique Maddo in Tando Muhammad Khan has been converted into a Model Village. The completed projects are as follows:

 

This village also provides an education facility and healthcare services to the community through the HDF Community Health Center.

 

Budhapur

In Partnership with:

 

Village Budhapur in Tando Muhammad Khan has been converted into a Model Village. The completed projects are as follows:

 

Thanks to VDO efforts, the government constructed a ring embankment around the village to protect it from future floods. The community has been successfully protected from any damage.
