Founded by Pakistani expatriates in 1997, HDF set out to empower rural communities in Pakistan. With a vision of every child in school, healthcare for all, clean water and self-sustaining communities, HDF works to break the cycle of poverty and restore dignity.

HDF’s Livelihood & Food Security Program empowers families to break the cycle of poverty by providing skills, tools, and opportunities that create stable incomes and lasting food security.
In Pakistan, poverty and food insecurity go hand in hand—limiting families’ ability to earn, eat, and survive. Today, 45% of the population lives below the national poverty line, and over 11 million people face acute food insecurity (FAO). Rural communities remain the most vulnerable, especially to economic shocks and climate change.
