Nazar2020 celebrates World Sight Day 2025

Nazar 2020 Event 2025

The Human Development Foundation (HDF), in partnership with the Pakistan Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (PIRS) hosted the World Sight Day event, an important milestone in strengthening comprehensive health screenings for children across Pakistan. With the generous support of HDF’s donors, children received free vision screenings, corrective glasses, and referrals for advanced treatment and surgery where needed. Together, we are turning blurry dreams into clear realities.

The roots of this initiative trace back to 2017, when Mr. Saqlain Khan launched Nazar 2020 with a powerful mission: to give every child the gift of clear sight and ensure no future is held back by vision impairment. Today, his legacy lives on through the dedicated efforts of Mrs. Alia Khan and HDF, bringing hope, clarity, and opportunity to thousands of students nationwide.

Building on this mission, HDF expanded the program this year to include hearing screenings alongside eye examinations, reinforcing its commitment to holistic child health. These efforts are helping identify uncorrected refractive errors, hearing concerns, and other health issues early, an essential step in preventing avoidable blindness and hearing impairment.

The seminar featured insightful presentations from leading experts in eye and ear health, underscoring the importance of prevention, protection, and regular check-ups. Ms. Samman Islam, CEO of HDF, emphasized, “Early detection and timely intervention are key to ensuring children can learn, grow, and thrive to their fullest potential.” Attendees learned how proactive screenings directly support better learning outcomes, healthier development, and an improved quality of life.

A heartfelt recorded message from Mrs. Alia Khan, a key supporter of the program, further highlighted the importance of unlocking human potential and promoting dignity through accessible health care.

This year’s Nazar 2020 initiative reaffirms HDF’s unwavering commitment to advancing children’s health and education, ensuring every child has the opportunity to see, hear, learn, and thrive.
